Málaga University
Molecular characterization of beneficial bacterial, genomics, metagenomics and meta-transcriptomics of microbial communities living with/within plants, and the development of synthetic communities or new natural products for further application in agriculture. In addition, He leads an independent research group with expertise in microbial ecology, plant microbiomes, meta-omics and computational biology, microbe-plant interactions, and computational strategies to natural product discovery and bacterial lifestyle prediction. His young research group at UMA (University of Málaga) consists of 3 postdocs and 4 PhD students. At the same time, he is Assistant Professor at Leiden University (LU) and guest researcher at the Netherlands Institute of Ecology (NIOO-KNAW) in Wageningen.

Victor Carrion Bravo
Coordinator of this consortium, a participant for Metagenomics and molecular microbiology.

Leiden University
Salma Balazadeh is a PI in this consortium. She is an associate Professor of Molecular Plant Stress Biology at the Institute of Biology Leiden (IBL), Leiden University. Her research group consists of two postdocs and five PhD students. The group of Salma Balazadeh has long-term expertise in analyzing physiological and molecular responses of plants (crops) to abiotic stresses and plant stress tolerance. The group has established a wide spectrum of technologies and computational approaches and runs several projects to identify and functionally characterize regulatory elements involved in plants-microbe interactions and the responses to abiotic stresses. In this consortium, she will provide expertise in analyzing plant tolerance to drought and salinity, at physiological and molecular levels.
