Plants crying for help in a changing world
WP1: Standardization and protocol establishment
The main objective of this work package will be design of microbial consortia (based on literature and functional studies;
(Task 1.1) and standardization of protocols (for biotic and abiotic stress) for the entire MicroSOS project. The standardization of protocols will be divided into four-week training courses for all partners. Standard Operational Protocols (SOPs) will be generated for, (1) SynCom design and plant microbiome inoculation
(Task 1.2), (2) application of drought and salinity stress in plants
(Task 1.3), (3) plant infection with bacterial and fungal pathogens
(Task 1.4) , (4) analysis of plant microbiome assembly
(Task 1.5), (5) measurement of greenhouse gas (GHG) baseline emissions from rice cultivation under abiotic stresses
(Task 1.6), (6) plant metabolomics
(Task 1.7), (7) determination of plant fitness
(Task 1.8). ∙ Total number of person months allocated to secondments= “36”
∙ The Associated Partner DE SANGOSSE will provide their expertise in microbial formulation, facilities and counsel for knowledge exchange between partners.
Description of deliverables: D1 – Selection of microbes for SynCom generation and SOPs, D2 – Define SOPs for abiotic stress induction and collection of data, D3 – Define SOPs for biotic stress induction and collection of data. The main outcome of this WP will be the selection and identification of microbes for SynCom generation and the generation of SOPs that will be used for all the partners during the entire project.
