In July 2024, teams of UMA (Spain), NIOO (the Netherlands) and ULEI (the Netherlands) participated in a secondment that took place at the Agricultural University of Athens (AUA) as part of MicroSOS WP1 activities. During their stay at AUA,  important knowledge-transfer and science-related activities took place.

On July 9th, MicroSOS coordinator dr. Víctor J. Carrión (UMA) and senior researcher from NIOO dr. Mark Zwart gave 2 seminars on topics related to microbiome and viral genome evolution

Then on July 11th, UMA and ULEI PhD candidates (Kevin Bretscher, Guillermo Guerrero Egido and Pascal Nuijten) together with dr. Víctor J. Carrión organized a workshop on -omics analysis.

It was a quite successful workshop, having MSc students, PhD candidates and postdoc researchers from different labs of AUA actively participating and having the opportunity to work on big data analysis.
